Employment Process

To assure the acquisition of qualified personnel at FMC, established guidelines must be followed by all departments and facilities.  All Department Managers/Clinic Administrators shall be advised of job vacancies within FMC.  They will be responsible for advising employees within their clinic(s). Should an employee wish to apply for a job in another facility, they must first advise their current Clinic Administrator of their interest.  The current Clinic Administrator will contact the Clinic Administrator of the facility where the vacancy exists and coordinate the interview process.  The Department Manager/Clinic Administrator will screen all applicants.  Selection will be based on the review of all applicants’ skills and qualifications, past performance record, job-related knowledge, and past experience. Should the hiring Administrator select an employee from another FMC facility, he/she will contact the current Administrator who will discuss the potential move with the Clinic’s physicians prior to discussing with the employee.  A mutually acceptable transition plan will be worked out so that no clinic will suffer hardship due to the transfer.

FMC Services - NP/PA​

Seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Amarillo, Texas to provide medical services in an urgent care clinic.

This practitioner will work under the supervision of the collaborating medical director, as well as working closely with other clinicians in a team approach to patient care.

 

Experience & Qualifications - Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant training program.

Five years’ experience as a practicing mid-level provider in urgent care preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational ability, time management and ability to prioritize work. Ability to exercise prudent and independent judgment, relative decision making with a high degree of accountability. Prior experience in a fast-paced, high customer volume work environment highly desirable.

Southwest Neuroscience and Spine Center

Acute Care Nurse Practitioner / Physicians Assistant

Southwest Neuroscience and Spine Center is seeking a full-time Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work with one of our Neurosurgeons. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, eager to learn, and ready to hit the ground running in our exciting and fast-paced work environment. Primary responsibilities include all aspects of care for neurosurgical patients in the clinic setting as well as hospital consults, inpatient rounding, call and surgical assist.  The emphasis of the practice includes minimally invasive care of spinal pathology, intracranial pathology and care of neurosurgical trauma patients.  A typical work week will include 2 days of clinic and 2-3 surgical days with 5 days of call spread over a month.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Independently see and assess patients with neurosurgical conditions; document care provided to support the continuity of patient care and optimum patient outcomes

  • Conduct clinical assessment of patients to develop diagnosis and implement treatment plan according to best practice guidelines including counseling and education to facilitate optimum patient outcomes

  • Order and interpret lab and diagnostic tests

  • Collaborate with supervising physician in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients

  • Submit billing and charge data in an accurate and timely manner

  • Surgical assistant

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program

  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Physician Assistant Studies, or related

  • Current licensure in the state of Texas

  • Current DEA license

  • Current national board certification

  • Certified Surgical First Assistant

  • ACLS certification

  • Three years’ experience as a practicing mid-level provided preferred

  • Experience in neurosurgery preferred

  • Experience in a fast-paced, high customer volume work environment highly desirable

  • Ability to exercise prudent and independent judgment, relative decision making with a high degree of accountability

  • Excellent clinical, verbal and written communication, organization, and time management skills

Compensation and Benefits:

Full Time Medical Coder position available. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to reading patient charts to determine medical history, including diagnoses and treatments given. Based on these charts, you’ll use a set of established medical codes tin or to transcribe patient history into a type of “shorthand” that will be used by both health care providers and insurance companies.

PRN RN or LVN needed. Responsible for providing professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices.  Assists physicians and staff in coordinating patient care. Functions as primary liaison between patients, staff and physicians. Clinical office experience is a plus. Needing individual to be able to work weekdays and on short notice.

Part-Time Procedure Room Nurse

Seeking a Part-time Procedure Room Nurse. Provide individualized nursing care as needed in accordance with the Individualized Service Plan (ISP) or Person-Directed Plan (PDP) and current nursing standards of care. As well as performing procedures as ordered by the physician and by in accordance with state law and standard nursing practices.

Must be a RN with ACLS. Mus have experience with conscious sedation.

Full time Self Pay Collector position available. Tasks include but are not limited to responding to billing questions from patients, medical offices and insurance companies, collections, Must have customer service experience, insurance claims and 1 to 2 years collections experience, a positive attitude and be willing to work as part of a team.
