BioTE Hormone Replacement Therapy

Your hormones are one of the most important systems that help regulate your body. They act as messengers, designed to interact with specific target cells and organs and provoke a change or result. As we age, hormone production changes and hormonal imbalance can occur. Unbalanced hormones can have a variety of side effects and symptoms. Complete the BioTE Wellness Survey to see if hormone replacement therapy is right for you!

Hormone Imbalance - Women

Many women will experience a hormone imbalance and not even realize it. Symptoms can range from subtle to debilitating and are often masked by medications that are prescribed for anxiety, depression, insomnia, weight gain, and more. It can occur as part of the natural aging process and may reflect genetic predispositions for certain conditions. However, hormone balance is affected by the food we eat, exercise and the amount of stress we experience. Having your hormones checked regularly will reveal whether your hormones are optimized.

Hormone Imbalance - Men

Symptoms experienced by men suffering from hormone imbalance include fatigue, insomnia, mild to moderate weight gain, and what some refer to as "brain fog". Some men experience a decrease in sexual performance, an inability to maintain muscle mass, and even depression and anxiety. These are very serious symptoms that may stem from a variety of serious conditions in addition to hormonal imbalance.

What is BioTE?

Each BioTE pellet procedure takes place in-office and is a short experience with little to no pain or discomfort to the patient. BioTE pellet therapy is customized to your unique physiology based on your test results. Because of this, every treatment is tailored to the patient and will have the greatest possible success in helping achieve balance. Furthermore, BioTE uses bio-identical hormones derived from plants, not animals, which more closely resemble the hormones naturally present within men and women than synthetic or animal-derived hormones. This could mean that BioTE may be the closest thing to having your own natural hormones produced and may have fewer side effects than synthetic hormones.

What can I expect?

While everyone’s results are different, the process for considering, getting, monitoring and continuing with BioTE therapy is typically the same with all our patients. Your first appointment will include hormone testing. The next appointment will be to review your tests, and your initial BioTE pellet insertion can be done. About six weeks after your first insertion we will check your hormone levels and see how your body is responding. BioTE pellets are then inserted every 3-6 months, depending on a variety of factors that determine absorption rates and needs as every patient's path to optimization is unique to them.
